Position Overview

As a Structural Steel Fabricator, you’ll read shop drawings, lay out materials, fit components, weld assemblies, and prepare finished steel products for installation. You’ll work closely with our fabrication team to ensure every project meets Bare Steel’s standards for quality, accuracy, and safety.

This position offers the opportunity to fabricate a wide variety of commercial, residential, and architectural steel projects in a professional fabrication environment.

Responsibilities

You’ll be responsible for:

✔ Reading fabrication and shop drawings

✔ Material layout and measuring

✔ Cutting steel using saws, plasma, and oxy-fuel equipment

✔ Fitting structural steel assemblies

✔ MIG, Flux-Core, Stick, and TIG welding (experience based on position)

✔ Grinding, finishing, and quality inspection

✔ Operating overhead cranes and shop equipment

✔ Loading completed material for delivery

✔ Maintaining a clean and organized work area

✔ Working safely while meeting production schedules

Qualifications

We’re looking for individuals who have:

  • 3+ years of steel fabrication experience (preferred)
  • Ability to read fabrication drawings
  • Experience fitting structural steel
  • Strong welding skills
  • Knowledge of fabrication tools and equipment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable transportation
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
