Position Overview

As a Certified Welder at Bare Steel Inc., you’ll weld structural steel, miscellaneous metals, ornamental steel, and custom fabrications in a fast-paced fabrication shop. You’ll work alongside fabricators, fitters, and project teams to produce high-quality steel components that meet engineering specifications and our strict quality standards.

✔ ADA Handrails

✔ Guardrails

✔ Gates & Fencing

✔ Courtyard Trellises

✔Equipment Platforms

✔Roof & Pit Ladders

✔Miscellaneous Steel


Welding Processes

We’re looking for experience in one or more of the following:

MIG Welding (GMAW)

Production welding for structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication.

Flux-Core Welding (FCAW)

Heavy structural steel fabrication with deep penetration and high productivity.

Stick Welding (SMAW)

Field welding, repairs, and structural applications.

TIG Welding (GTAW)

Precision welding for stainless steel, aluminum, and specialty architectural projects.


Responsibilities

You’ll be responsible for:

✔ Reading shop drawings and welding symbols

✔ Welding structural and miscellaneous steel assemblies

✔ Verifying proper fit-up before welding

✔ Maintaining weld quality and consistency

✔ Grinding and finishing welded assemblies

✔ Inspecting completed welds

✔ Operating welding and fabrication equipment safely

✔ Maintaining a clean work area

✔ Working with fabricators to meet production schedules

✔ Following Bare Steel quality and safety standards


Qualifications

We’re looking for:

  • 3+ years of professional welding experience (preferred)
  • Ability to read fabrication drawings
  • Understanding of welding symbols
  • Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication
  • Experience with commercial construction steel
  • Reliable transportation
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic

Preferred Certifications

Candidates with the following certifications are encouraged to apply:

  • AWS Certified Welder
  • D1.1 Structural Steel Welding
  • Forklift Certification (Preferred)
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 (Preferred)
