Position Overview

Steel Installers are responsible for installing fabricated steel safely, accurately, and according to engineered drawings. You’ll work with cranes, forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and hand tools to install structural and miscellaneous steel while maintaining Bare Steel’s high standards for craftsmanship and professionalism.

You’ll work closely with project managers, foremen, fabricators, welders, and general contractors to complete projects safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

You’ll be responsible for:

✔ Installing fabricated steel according to approved drawings

✔ Reading structural and shop drawings

✔ Layout and field measurements

✔ Field welding and bolting

✔ Rigging and signaling crane operators

✔ Installing anchor bolts, embeds, and connection hardware

✔ Operating scissor lifts and boom lifts

✔ Using lasers, levels, and layout tools

✔ Coordinating with general contractors and other trades

✔ Maintaining a clean and safe work area

✔ Following OSHA safety requirements and Bare Steel standards

Qualifications

We’re looking for:

  • Experience installing structural or miscellaneous steel (preferred)
  • Ability to read blueprints and shop drawings
  • Experience using power tools and layout equipment
  • Ability to work safely at heights
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliable transportation
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn

Physical Requirements

  • Lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Comfortable working at heights.

  • Safely handle heavy steel materials and equipment.
