At Bare Steel, our General Labor team plays a vital role in keeping projects moving. From preparing materials in the shop and organizing inventory to loading deliveries and supporting fabrication crews, every task contributes to delivering high-quality structural steel projects across California.

This position is ideal for dependable, hardworking individuals who want to build a career in the structural steel industry while learning from experienced fabricators, welders, painters, and field installers.

Responsibilities

Assist fabricators and welders with daily shop operations
Load and unload structural steel using forklifts and overhead cranes (training provided)
Organize steel inventory, hardware, and shop materials
Prepare steel components for fabrication and painting
Clean work areas and maintain an organized shop
Assist delivery drivers with loading and securing materials
Perform material pickups and deliveries when assigned
Support field installation crews as needed
Follow all company safety procedures
Maintain tools and equipment

✔Standing for extended periods
✔Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling
✔Working indoors and outdoors
✔Walking throughout the fabrication facility
✔climbing ladders when necessary
✔Ability to work in varying weather conditions

Work Environment

You’ll work alongside experienced structural steel fabricators, certified welders, painters, delivery drivers, and installation crews in a professional fabrication facility. Every day provides opportunities to learn new skills while contributing to commercial, multi-family, and residential steel projects across California.
